BTS is a sensational k-pop group from South Korea. They are consisted of 7 members: Jungkook, V, Jimin, RM, J-Hope, Suga, and Jin. They are singers, dancers, and rappers. The acronym, BTS, stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan 방탄소년단. In English, Bangtan Sonyeondan translates to Bulletproof Boys Scouts. No, they will not serve you cookies. But according to BTS member J-Hope, the name signifies the group's desire to "block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets".
BTS had formed in 2010, with youngest member Jungkook being 13 at the time and oldest member Jin being 18. They officially debuted on June 13, 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. Since then, they've become one of the most biggest and talked about superstars of all times, breaking hundreds of records and giving millions of armys heart attacks because of their good-looking selves. Army is what they call their fans. A.R.M.Y is an acronym for Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. ARMY also represents a military and because 방탄소년단 directly translates to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts,” ARMY (military) and BTS (the armor) would always be together.
Their music, however, has very deep, heartfelt meanings because BTS wants to connect with Army and let them know that they should always love themselves, take care of themselves, and they're not alone.
